I wanted to mention that Protecting Animal Wellness Society (PAWS) at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University (ERAU) recently dedicated one of their cat-feeding stations to my late wife, Genevieve or “G” as she was known. PAWS is one of the funds G’s Scholarship has been supporting for the last 4 years. For those that don’t know, G graduated from ERAU in 1999 to become an Air Traffic Controlled where she worked for 20+ years before her untimely death November 14th, 2020. G had a very strong affection for all animals and cats in particular. We had at least 1 for our entire 18 years together. Also, if you did not know, ERAU has a resident feral cat population of about 25-40 individuals. Rather than trying to eradicate them, the school decided to co-exist in a mutually beneficial manner. The cats keep the rodent population in check and ERAU provides feeding stations, fresh water and shelter. The school, with the help of local animal hospitals, also captures new cats and provides health check-ups, neutering/spaying, etc. Many of the cats that are not-so feral, are adopted by students.

This dedication took place on August 26th, 2026, which is G’s birthday – she would have been 52, and I attended and met Megan Lupac, president of the PAWS chapter at ERAU.
