Scholarship

A lasting legacy

G’s Scholarship

I started a scholarship at G’s alma mater, Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach, Florida.

G loved flying and anything to do with it. She was an air traffic controller for as long as I knew her and, according to her peers, she was a very good one.

Genevieve’s Aviation Career

She was in training at the L.A. Center in Canyon Country when I first met her and was working on September 11, 2001, when the FAA ordered all planes to land within 30 minutes. It was all accomplished without a single event. She was obviously very proud of that, as are all controllers, and rightly so.

There is also a memorial bench and palm tree at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach.
